Who we are

Sample Life is made by Rudi Rok. “We” in these terms means Sample Life and the seller of its paid plans.

Paid plans are sold by Rudi Rok’s company, based in Finland. It is the seller and your contract partner: it takes your payment, charges VAT and sends your receipt. Its name and address are in your order confirmation email. Payments are processed by Stripe, and your card statement shows RUDI ROK.

How Sample Life works

Recording, uploading, analysing, arranging and exporting all happen in your browser, on your device. Your clips, mixes and exported files are not uploaded to us or to anyone else.

There is no account and no cloud backup. Your projects are saved in your browser’s storage on that device, when the browser allows it. They are not there in another browser, on another device or in a private window, and clearing the browser’s site data removes them. Download the files you want to keep.

The music comes from analysing your sounds and arranging them with genre patterns. It is not a service that writes songs for you.

Plans

Free includes up to 4 active tracks (muted tracks don’t count) in Hip hop, Pop, House, Techno or Lo-fi, video with the outlined Sample Life wordmark top left and BOB’s head bottom right, and stereo WAV with no audible watermark.

Everyone can try all 16 genres and up to 12 tracks before paying. Beyond the Free limits the video preview shows light stripes. Payment is only asked for when you export.

A clean export has neither corner mark. Both paid plans include video and WAV, 15 or 30 seconds, in portrait, square or landscape.

This mix · €2.90 once

This mix unlocks the mix that is open in Sample Life when you pay, with the sounds in it: up to 12 active tracks, all 16 genres and clean video and audio exports. Change its genre, tempo, length, layout or format, mute or remove its sounds, and download it as often as you like. Those changes and repeat downloads are included. It is a one-time payment, not a subscription.

• One mix, this browser, this device. The unlock is saved in the browser you paid in, next to the mix. It doesn’t move to another browser or device.
• Clearing site data removes it. If you clear the browser’s site data, the mix and its unlock are gone from that browser. We never receive your mix, so we can’t restore it.
• A new sound starts a new mix, which needs another purchase, or Pro.

Pro · €6.90 a month

Pro unlocks every project and every feature in the browser where Pro is on, for as long as your subscription is active: up to 12 active tracks per project, all 16 genres and clean exports, with no credits or per-mix charges.

• Renews automatically every month on the date you started, at €6.90 including VAT, until you cancel.
• Cancel any time in Sample Life: Plans, then Manage subscription. This opens Stripe’s customer portal, where you can also update your card and see invoices. After you cancel, Pro stays on until the end of the month you’ve paid for, and nothing more is charged. A month already started is not refunded in part. If Manage subscription isn’t available in your browser, for example after clearing its data, use Restore Pro first, or email support@rudirok.com from the address you used at checkout and we cancel it for you.
• Another browser or device: Plans, then Restore Pro. Enter the email address you used at checkout and we email you a link that turns Pro on there. The link works for 24 hours.
• Checks: the app confirms your subscription with Stripe from time to time, which needs an internet connection. If a payment fails, Pro stays on for a short grace period while Stripe retries the card.

If the Pro price changes, we email you at least 30 days before the new price applies to you, and you can cancel before it does.

Price and payment

Prices are in euros and include VAT. The checkout shows the total and the VAT in it before you pay, and your receipt shows them too. Promotion codes, when offered, are entered at checkout.

You pay on a checkout page run by Stripe, by card (Apple Pay and Google Pay where your device offers them). You pay in euros wherever you are.

Access and your right of withdrawal

This mix and Pro start right after payment: you come straight back to Sample Life with the plan on.

Under EU and Finnish consumer law you normally have 14 days to withdraw from an online purchase. For digital content supplied at once, that right ends when access starts, if you agreed to this in advance. At checkout you tick a required box next to this text:

I want access right away. I understand that I lose my 14-day right of withdrawal once access starts.

The purchase can’t be completed without the tick. Your order confirmation email repeats this text and its version. After access starts, the purchase is final, except when something doesn’t work: see the next section. Cancelling Pro is always possible and stops the next renewal.

If something doesn’t work

If an export fails or your plan doesn’t unlock, email support@rudirok.com with the email address you used at checkout and, if you have it, your receipt number. We’ll help you get it working.

If an export technically fails and we can’t fix it within a reasonable time, we refund your purchase. You also keep your rights under consumer law if Sample Life is faulty or not as described, and nothing in these terms limits them. Giving up the right of withdrawal doesn’t affect them.

Sample Life works in current versions of common browsers. Video export needs a browser that can encode video. Try your mix in the free version first: the paid plans change the limits and the logos, not what your browser can do.

Your sounds and exports

Your recordings, uploads and the files you export are yours. We never receive them and claim no rights in them. You can share and publish your exports, including in posts for your business.

Only record and upload sounds and footage you have the right to use, and only record people who agree to it. Don’t use Sample Life to infringe anyone’s rights or to harass or mislead people.

Sample Life itself, its design, BOB, the demo sounds and the genre patterns belong to Rudi Rok. You can use them as part of your exports; don’t copy or resell the app.

Changes

We may change Sample Life’s features and design for a good reason: to fix faults, keep it secure, keep it working in new browser versions, follow the law or improve it. A change never costs you extra, and a plan you paid for keeps what it promised for its mix (This mix) or for the months you’ve paid (Pro). If a change makes it clearly harder to use what you paid for, we email you in good time, and you can end your plan free of charge within 30 days of our email or of the change, whichever is later. We then refund This mix, or the unused part of your Pro month.

These terms may be updated. The version on this page when you bought applies to that purchase. For Pro, we email you at least 30 days before a change that matters to you takes effect, and you can cancel before it does.

Law and disputes

These terms are governed by Finnish law. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of the country where you live.

If you’re not happy, email us first; most things are quick to fix. If we can’t agree, a consumer can bring the dispute to the Finnish Consumer Disputes Board (Kuluttajariitalautakunta, kuluttajariita.fi), after first contacting the consumer advisory services (kkv.fi). You can also go to the courts.
